For a small garden, you have to buy Bush Zucchini or Bush yellow squash. (They have a bush from rather than a running vine.) I get seeds for small garden items like this from Parkseed.com special because I only have an 8x8 garden. There's also a bush cucumber pickle they sell suited to the small garden.
Regular bell pepper and all pepper type perform nicely in small space. Also tomatoes, bush beans, beets, radishes, various lettaces.
Parkseed.com sells a couple of breeds of "pot peppers" which will grow nicely in a large pot, which I like.
I also do well with broccoli, cabbage and brussel sprouts, which I grow during winter since I live in Florida. (I have two small gardens a year usually.)
Absolutely you cannot grow corn in the small garden. Or pumpkins or anytime type of running vine that require alot of space.

Lettuces and spinach take little space and are easy to grow during the spring and fall.
Carrots and radishes can be planted pretty densely and radishes only take a month from seed to harvest so several crops can be planted in a season. I would often eat them right out the garden.
A couple of tomatoes are a must. They are more vertical space. At least a cherry (for eating in the garden) and a beefsteak for slicing. Buy or make big sturdy cages
Sugar snap peas are a favorite. Build a trellis for them to climb and they take little space.
Same goes for vine cucumbers.
Peppers and eggplants are pretty compact but I gave up on them after the flea beetles arrived.
Zucchini and yellow squash are big plants but you can get a big yield from one mound of plants.
Hope that helps.

A lot depends on what exactly you're growing; different plants have different needs.

The main difference between liquid & granular is how fast it reaches the plant's roots. Liquid is adsorbed much faster, but can be messy, time-consuming, and expensive. Granular, while slower, is usually a bit cheaper, and I personally find it much easier to deal with.

And don't forget about "natural" fertilizers-- peat moss, compost, and animal manure. I don't plant anything without giving it ample quantities of all of the above. Someone else mentioned fish emulsion, which is also a good natural fertilizer. Another benefit to natural fertilizers is that they are almost never harmful to plants, where too much chemical fertilizer can "burn" leaves & roots, and possibly even kill a plant.

Ideally, though, start with a mix of all of the above. There is no one " magic" fertilizer that produces amazing plants. I grow roses, and I use everything. About every 3 weeks I feed granular, I'm always adding more compost & natural fertilizers, and when we have dry weather, I mix liquid fertilizer in while watering.

Compost is the best.
I was able to get loads and loads of it for free from a horse farm. (Don't take the fresh manure: it stinks. Take the "well-rotted" stuff. Just shovel it in to your garden.
I've been amazed at how my garden has taken off since I added the compost.
The best part about compost is that it's idiot proof. Unlike any chemical fertilizers, you can never burn your plants or screw up the timing. (Last year, all of my tomatoes got blossom end rot because I continued fertilizing after they started producing fruit).

Phosphate, Nitrogen, and Potash are the main ingredients of a good fertilizer.
Liquid fertilizer works faster than granular.

Potash will increase the crop and size. Nitrogen is for leaf growth.

But you really cannot beat good old - fashioned compost, if you have any, for improving the soil and for giving good and healthy crops.
Too much artificial fertilizer is bad for your soil over the long run.

Most magazine subscriptions start in 4 to 6 wks.
There is no set waist size that a person is suppose to be.
The main thing is to be healthy.

How many people are you having at your wedding?

How about a VFW hall, Community Center, Local Park District. Some churches even have large rooms they rent out. You could also rent a tent and have it at a family members home. (I recommend calling Mark from Tents For Rent 630-440-7161 His Email: tentman1@sbcglobal.net)

I had a wedding recently & my fiance and I went to many bridal shows, met many wedding venders, checked many references, and asked a lot of people online for recommendations (I'm quite a perfectionist) and these are the companies that we chose, and I was SOOOO extremely happy with them. Our wedding was PERFECT! I would highly recommend these vendors to anyone getting married in the chicagoland area…

Wedding Dress: I chose VIP Occasions in Elmhurst (VIPoccasions.com) Their phone number is 630-833-4696) WOW WOW WOW, I LOVED my dress!! They had a great selection to choose from, their prices were very reasonable & VIP Occasions is a smaller company so they always made me feel like I was their most important customer. I was so happy that I cried when I put my wedding dress on for the 1st time. It was perfect!

Wedding Photographer: Timothy Whaley & Associates. (www.TWAPhoto.com) Their phone number is 630-271-1737. My wedding pictures are SO incredibly amazing. They look like they could be published in a wedding magazine. My photographer took some EXTREMELY CREATIVE pictures of us, they were not the old boring wedding poses you normally see. In addition, our photographer was so fun & easy to work with on our wedding day.

Wedding Flowers: We chose Karen's Floral Expressions in Bolingbrook (www.KarensFloral.com) Their phone Number is 630-771-9300. My flowers were so GEORGEOUS. They turned out exactly how I invisioned. Their staff is always so friendly there & their prices were great too.

Wedding DJ Service: DJ Scott Fijolek was BY FAR the best. (www.1stClassDJ.com) His phone number is 630-244-7670. He was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL to work with. His choice of music was perfect. His prices were very reasonable. All night long, my friends & family were complementing me on how great of a DJ he was. Two of my fiends are getting married next year and they both decided to use his DJ Service too. I have to say, when people told me that a DJ can make or break a wedding, they were not kidding. He made my wedding so fun, so exciting & so very memorable!!

Banquet Hall: We had our wedding at Abbington Banquets. (www.AbbingtonBanquets.com) Their phone number is 630-942-8600. The Abbington i was simply wonderful. The food was DELICIOUS, their staff was knowledgeable & friendly, and I LOVED the crystal chandeliers!!

Wedding Limo: The Best Limo service I found was a limo company called "A Dynasty Limo" in Downers Grove. (815-577-7705) They were on time, friendly, easy to work with, my bridal party LOVED riding in their limo.

We also rented a Photo Booth from The Fun Ones in Addison. (www.TheFunOnes.com) Their phone number is 630-495-3200. That was a very nice touch. Everyone loved getting their pictures taken in the photobooth. Their prices were great. Our event planner Scott was so knowledgeable & easy to work with. We used the photo booth for our "guest book". When our guests first arrived, they would have their picture taken in the photobooth, they would keep one copy, then put the other copy "in" our guestbook & then wrote a note to us next to their picture. It was such a great idea.

Tuxedos: Regarding Tuxedos, we decided to go with a smaller company "Lorenzo's" in Lisle (630-983-7771) and we are so glad we did. Vince was amazing to work with. They have great prices, a great selection & they do in-house alterations. My fiance loved working with Vince.

Here's an article about indoor zen gardens.

Please remember that when you're looking at bonsai, you need to concentrate on indoor plants because you'll be assembling your garden indoors. The available light will also be a concern.
