I like fish emulsion liquid; you can buy it concentrated and dilute it. There’s also a worm casting “tea” concentrate that’s sold in recycled soda bottles, which is great.

But the best fertilizers are the ones you don’t have to buy – old tea, coffee, flat soda, stale beer, fruit juice that’s gone “off”, water from cooking veggies, the bloody liquid from meat packaging (diluted until you can just barely see the pink) – all of these liquids have valuable nutrients and it’s a shame to waste them by pouring them down the drain.

Sprinkle used coffee grounds all around your garden – the worms love them!

Start a compost pile and make compost tea to water your garden.

our wedding budget is 10,000 dollars! is it even possible to have a wedding on that budget?? uhm… we want to get married on may 13, 2011. He hasn’t “officially” proposed yet but we talk about it all the time and we already set a date and all. Anyways, point is I need a cheap venue in Il. As close to the 60087 zip code as possible. So far we’re looking at the botanic garden in Chicago. it’s 2500 to 4000. but we have to do all the decor and furniture rental. PLEASE HELP ME. oh! I’ve recently moved and am happy to report my living room is rather large for the first time ever. I’ve chosen contemporary low profile furniture and am aiming for a serene, zen theme and so far so good. However, the longest wall still seems empty and i’d like to use the space to create a zen like space w/ bonsai’s, plants, candles, and a rock garden perhpas. Any ideas?

Buy a short coffee table and place all of your bonsais on it. You can also dress it up by hanging a large picture above it.
